About diana

I am an Australian author, journalist, travel writer and teacher.

My latest book is Whale Rock, a novel set in Sydney, the NSW south coast and Nicaragua. It won Gold for Popular Literary Fiction in the Global Ebook Awards 2019.

There’s more about my career and publications on this website.

I’m available for speaking engagements, freelance writing, research, television production and teaching. I also love working with children. I have two grown-up children of my own.

As well as being part of the incredible Foxground community and loving bushwalking and swimming, I do enjoy a bit of adventure. Over the past two years I have been part of a team working on a documentary about a traditional Indigenous man, Matt Dawson, in the Kimberley, have worked on a musical, Cornelius and Rosalind, with Arnold Pudding Smith in Broome and the Dampier Peninsula, been the guest of the Ionian Center for the Arts and Culture in Kefalonia, Greece, travelled across the border from Ohrid, North Macedonia and made my way to Thessaloniki, and broke down west of Fitzroy Crossing, having to hitch-hike back to Broome in over 40-degree heat. And that’s just the start. Some of these experiences are in the musical and in my new new novel-in-progress.

Please contact me if you’d like more information or copies of my books and plays. Have fun!
